Japan is a dream destination for photographers, and I recently had the chance to capture its beauty with my Fujifilm X-H2S. Tokyo proved to be an incredible city for street photography. I spent time wandering the quiet bookstore neighborhood of Jimbocho and visiting the stunning Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. At night, the city transformed, offering amazing opportunities to photograph the tiny alleys of Golden Gai and the chaotic energy of Shibuya Crossing.
As a Fujifilm shooter, I couldn’t resist visiting Fujifilm Square in Tokyo. I was able to see and try the new Fujifilm GFX100RF, and it was an amazing experience. It is truly an impressive piece of technology.
I also took a day trip out to the Fuji Five Lakes area to photograph Mt. Fuji. The area was bustling with locals enjoying fall festivals, and the maple leaves were a vibrant red, making for perfect landscape shots.
From there, I took the Shinkansen to Kyoto to explore the historic streets of the Gion District. My trip ended in Hiroshima, where I spent the morning on Miyajima Island admiring the iconic floating Itsukushima Shrine. The afternoon was spent at the Peace Memorial Park, photographing the preserved Atomic Bomb Dome, a deeply moving way to end the journey.
